Mr. John Midgett, PA-C

Mr. Midgett is a native of southeastern North Carolina. He attended UNC-Wilmington receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1998 with a concentration in Pre-Med studies. After completion of his undergraduate degree he managed Cape Fear Outfitters near Wrightsville Beach. He later became the managing partner/owner. Following the sale of his business he began pursuing medicine. He volunteered with Leland Fire/Rescue while attending EMS courses at Cape Fear Community College. He then worked in EMS services in New Hanover and Brunswick counties for three years. He was accepted into the Physician Assistant program at East Carolina University in 2005 where he received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in 2007.

Mr. Midgett began his career as a Physician Assistant in the ER in Brunswick county. He has practiced for the past 15 years in family Medicine and urgent care in Wilmington. He enjoys providing comprehensive family medicine and all aspects of urgent care.

John lives in Wilmington with his wife and daughter. John and his family are active in their church, Wrightsville United Methodist. He enjoys time with family and friends outdoors and on the water. His many hobbies include hunting, camping, fishing/fly fishing, surfing and boating. He volunteers with his church, Ducks Unlimited and The Salvation Army.

John is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society. He has been adjunct faculty at East Carolina University in the School of Allied Health, Physician Assistant Studies program. He has served as a preceptor for students through SEAHEC, precepting ECU and Methodist University Physician Assistant, as well as UNC and UNCW Nurse Practitioner students.
